The denim jacket Type II is a historical model created by Levi's in 1953. It is distinguished from the Type I, first denim jacket appeared in the early 1900s, by adding a second matching pocket at the front and the disappearance of the cinch back. It has a "boxy"accentuated by the double ease pleats on the front. These sewn pleats were initially intended to prevent shrinking of the jacket or weight gain of the wearer. With a simple cut of the scissors, it is possible to cut the seams and recover the excess space generated by these famous pleats. The Type II falls straighter and has a slightly shorter length that rests on the hips. Highly appreciated for its decidedly "vintage" spirit, the Type II has experienced a significant resurgence of interest in recent years.

It is offered here in a fabric Sashiko "from" 11oz, dyed with indigo on both the weft and the warp thread. It is a fabric that will develop a beautiful patina as the dye fades over time. The beauty of the patina of a fabric Sashiko resides in the different levels of fading, with the embroidered stitches lightening first, leaving a deeper hue between them, which accentuates the nuances. One of the other advantages of this weave is the comfort. As the weave is not dense, it provides a very pleasant feeling of flexibility from the first wear.

Weaving Sashiko is an integral part of Japanese culture. It is a decorative embroidery technique also associated with clothing making. Formerly used for firefighters' uniforms during the period "Edo" refers to a historical period in Japan, also known as the Tokugawa period, which lasted from 1603 to 1868. This era was characterized by the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate and the country's isolationist foreign policy. The city of Edo, now known as Tokyo, was the capital during this time., nowadays we find the Sashiko in Judo and Kendo outfits, as well as among many Japanese brands, which are keen to perpetuate tradition.
