Vetra

The History of Vetra

The Beerens family settled in Paris in the 1920s. The son, Edouard, received his mother’s apron and blouse factory as a wedding gift. The workshop was located at 3 rue de Bretonvilliers on the Île Saint Louis, in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, where the brand Vetra (a contraction of tements de TRAvail, meaning work clothes) was created in 1927. With a commitment to defending French textile expertise by manufacturing 100% of its garments in France, within its own workshop, Vetra now boasts over nine decades of expertise in the production of workwear. Only a high standard of quality, made possible by complete control over production, has enabled it to endure and remain independent in its strategic choices.
