The brand Harley of Scotland is one of the few manufacturers specialized in "seamless" knits, meaning they are knitted in one single piece, without any seams or cuts in the fabric.
Harley of Scotland was founded in 1929 by Peter Harley Buchan, the great-grandfather and grandfather of the current owners. The factory is still located at the original site, in the Aberdeenshire region of Scotland.
Initially, the company made fisherman's socks for the local market. It then expanded its production, inspired by the beauty and symbolism of the knitted patterns on the Fair Isle sweaters of the fishermen from the northern islands.
Harley sweaters are made with the finest Scottish and Italian yarns available on the market: from the classic Supersoft Shetland, originating from Aberdeenshire and spun locally, to ultra-fine lamb's wool, and the finest Scottish cashmere.
Since 2001, the brand has specialized in the famous "seamless" knits. It uses complex and innovative techniques consisting of knitting in a tubular, flat manner, thus providing an exceptional fit. Without cumbersome side seams, the seamless sweaters are also particularly comfortable and maintain their shape better over time.
For several years, we have also been working with Harley on exclusive colors, in collaboration with the Scottish mill Gardiner. The Harley x Flâneurs model has now become a classic in our selection, sparking great enthusiasm each year among those who have already adopted it.
