Jackman
Jackman is the brand of a Japanese manufacturing company based in Fukui, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Mitsugu Tanabe, founder of Tanabe Meriyasu.
Just after the war, his fascination with American baseball led him to build a sewing factory specializing in baseball goods.
He developed new technologies and sewing machines, earning many patents and awards, but most importantly, he built a solid reputation for the quality of his products.
After receiving an Invention Award from Prince Takamatsu in 1962, the company expanded its development to all types of sportswear and became one of the official suppliers of training apparel for the Japanese national team at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games.
The Jackman sewing factory is now over 60 years old and houses both modern and rare, old sewing machines, such as Union Special and REECE, which are repaired on-site over time.
