Mooncastle
The Japanese knitting label Mooncastle, launched in 2020, is the first brand from the family business Tsukisiro Knit Co., based in Osaka and founded in 1966.
In 2020, Ryoichi Tsukishiro, the third generation of the family, launched Mooncastle. The brand's name translates to "月城" (Tsukishiro) in Japanese, which is the founder's last name.
Mooncastle produces fine, durable knits with a strong focus on detail. By carrying out all stages of production, including yarn selection, design, pattern making, knitting, sewing, and finishing in their own factory, the label is able to maintain consistent quality.
Their production is located in the Senshu area in the Osaka Prefecture, one of the largest knitting production regions in Japan. Mooncastle is thus part of the "factory brand" which we particularly cherish and that represents a significant part of our selection.
