The D1826 jeans from Studio D'Artisan are inspired by the American "Ivy League" style, which has greatly influenced the brand since its inception as well as the entire realm of Japanese denim. The Ivy League movement, closely linked to the history of the United States, refers to the look sported by students from the 8 most prestigious American universities during the 1950s. A clever mix of formal and casual attire, this style would invade Japan in the 1960s.

The sartorial emancipation of the youth of that era came with the abandonment of traditional uniforms, giving way to the combination of a shirt under a tweed blazer, worn with a pair of loafers and, as showcased here, jeans. Studio d'Artisan has chosen to reproduce the details of this authentic jean according to the specifications of that time, from the fabric to the cut.

This model is crafted from a 13oz Japanese denim that has been carefully pre-washed to eliminate shrinkage and offer the typical "hairy" texture of vintage denim. This model comes in a Relaxed Tapered fit, with a medium rise, a generous thigh opening followed by a clean taper, and a semi-narrow leg opening. Naturally, it features the signature details of Studio d'Artisan, such as the arcuate (stitching) on the back pockets, branded buttons and rivets, and a screen-printed jacron patch.
