The NO COMPLY jeans line from XX DEVELOPMENT is an ode to the craftsmanship of an era when quality was the industry's watchword. The Japanese brand, driven by its two founders Taichi and Kentaro, aims to study vintage pieces in detail to create the best possible reproduction.

The NO COMPLY Regular is inspired by the old 501s from 1966, offering a well-fitting high waist and a comfortable straight shape with good thigh room followed by a generous leg opening without being too wide, and a proportionately sized ankle.

One of the most interesting aspects of these jeans is the fabric, a standard weight of 13.5oz, perfect for any season. This denim, woven on old shuttle looms, features a contrasting white weft thread and a deep indigo warp thread. At first glance, the exterior appears uniform, but it will reveal patina and underlying texture that becomes more significant with wear and washes.

Uniquely, this model comes pre-washed (one wash) using the "Bucket Dip" technique: each pair of jeans is individually dipped in a bucket of moderately warm water, allowing the fabric to pre-shrink while maintaining the stiffness and crisp appearance of raw denim.

Unlike the initial models of NO COMPLY jeans we received, the length has increased from 30 to 32 to suit a greater number of people. Despite a set size, slight shrinkage may occur after the first wash, especially in the leg length. A reduction of about 2 cm maximum is to be expected.
