Denime is an iconic Japanese brand founded in 1988 by Yoshiyuki Hayashi. It is known for its faithful reproduction of vintage American jeans, particularly from the 1960s. By collaborating with Kurabo Industries, a pioneer of Japanese denim, Denime has developed authentic selvedge fabrics, woven on traditional shuttle looms. This meticulous approach has helped establish Denime's reputation in the world of premium denim.

Denime is part of the renowned "Osaka Five" group, alongside Studio D'Artisan, Evisu, Fullcount, and Warehouse & Co.. Now under the supervision of Warehouse & Co., the brand has undergone several changes in direction but continues to produce high-quality jeans that are cherished by denim enthusiasts for their authenticity and durability.

The Lot 224-66 is a faithful reproduction of the Levi’s 501 model from 1966. This jean embodies traditional Japanese craftsmanship applied to an iconic American design. It is made from a Japanese selvedge denim of 13.5oz, woven on GL3 shuttle looms. The cotton is 100% natural and unsanforized to preserve its structure and authentic appearance. To avoid shrinkage, we chose to pre-wash it using Warehouse & Co. detergent.

This “Natural Mother Cotton” version uses chemically untreated cotton, grown naturally. This results in a more textured fabric, with a raw and organic feel. The term “Natural Mother Cotton” thus denotes a more artisanal and eco-friendly approach to cotton cultivation.

Every detail is carefully considered: the iron button fly, the cotton thread seams, the copper rivets, the paper patch, and the discrete white selvedge edge, a signature of quality. The cut is straight, with a mid-rise waist, true to the spirit of the 60s.
