Oni is a mysterious label behind which hides a true enthusiast who has devoted 60 years of his life to denim. Always striving for perfection, Oishi-san is continuously exploring and focuses solely on production. This is why you will not find a website or an official Instagram page for the brand. This is also why the label is distributed only in a few stores worldwide and exclusively at Flâneurs for France.

Symbolically, the demon-branded company wanted to create this Type II from the same fabric as their first jeans: the "Blue Oni" model. The result is a piece crafted from 14 oz selvedge denim with a rough texture and the beautiful irregularities characteristic of the label. Made from a selection of the best cottons, this fabric has a textured, relatively flexible hand, and a typical look of the Japanese manufacturer. For this, Oni Denim uses "slub" cotton yarns and a low-tension weaving process that only M. Oishi knows the secret to. To enhance this authentic spirit and achieve beautiful shades of color over time and washes, there is an indigo warp thread and a beige weft thread. This naturally brown cotton will provide a warm patina with sandy reflections and a vintage look.

As with classic Type II jackets, there are two buttoned chest pockets, a five-button closure, the famous back pleats, and contrast stitching. The left pocket is adorned with a denim "flasher," like the early "Oni" jeans.

While maintaining a "boxy" fit, this version of the Type II has been modernized, including narrower armholes than the original.
