The Denim Haori from Japan Blue is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese Haori. Originally, this very loose garment was intended for warriors of the Sengoku period (around the 16th century), who wore it over their battle armor to protect against the cold. Later, the Haori was popularized among women by geishas who wore it as a fashion item over their kimono. This version retains the classic shape of the haori with a straight, loose fit and no front closure.

It is crafted from a 13oz non-selvedge denim woven from organic cotton, which is soft and durable. The warp thread (outer) has received a deep indigo dye, contrasting with the weft thread (inner) that is left white and undyed. Thanks to the dyeing technique used, known as "rope dye", the color will fade over time, allowing a patina with varied blue shades to develop. The tobacco-toned stitching recalls the original color of jean seams, initially chosen to make the rivets more discreet.

This jacket is designed to be worn as a light layering piece, suitable for everyday use. It combines traditional Japanese elements with contemporary manufacturing, with particular attention to detail and fabric quality.
