The Denim Haori from Japan Blue is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese Haori. Originally intended for warriors during the Sengoku period (around the 16th century), who wore it over their battle armor to protect against the cold. Later, the Haori became popular among women, worn by geishas as a fashion item over their kimonos. This version retains the classic haori shape with a loose, straight cut and no front closure.

It is crafted from a 13oz non-selvedge denim woven from organic cotton, which is soft and durable. The warp (outer) and weft (inner) threads have been deeply dyed with black sulfur. Thanks to the "rope dye" technique used, the dye will fade over time, allowing for a patina with varied grayish shades. This time, the stitching has been done in a tone-on-tone manner to offer more minimalism and versatility.

This jacket is designed to be worn as a layering piece, like a light layer, and is suitable for everyday use. It combines traditional Japanese elements with contemporary manufacturing, with special attention to detail and fabric quality.
