Oni is a mysterious label helmed by a true enthusiast who has dedicated 60 years of his life to denim. Always in pursuit of perfection, Oishi-san is constantly innovating and focuses solely on production. This is the reason why you won’t find an official website or Instagram page for the brand. It is also why the label is only distributed in a select few stores around the world and exclusively at Flâneurs in France.

The Coverall Jacket from ONI is based on the iconic work jacket (or Chore Coat) that appeared at the end of the 19th century in France. The originally loose and comfortable fit, intended for railroad workers or farmers, has been revised to a cut closer to that of a suit jacket. It has a more fitted fall, with shorter sleeves and a shortened torso, for a more "formal" look than a traditional "workwear" jacket.

While retaining the authentic touch typical of fabrics from Oni Denim, the 03100-BKOL jacket is made from a lightweight 12.5oz denim crafted on old shuttle looms. Thanks to the low-tension weaving, the selvedge fabric is both textured and slightly rough. Its unique shade is achieved by combining a green sulfur-dyed weft (inside) and a black sulfur-dyed warp (outside). Just like indigo, this combination of shades will evolve into a unique patina over repeated wear. The bright pink selvedge edging contrasts with the overall depth of the color.

To stabilize the size and soften the fabric, the fabric is directly pre-washed by the brand, offering lightness and comfort from the first wear. The 03100-BKOL from Oni is a piece with character, combining tradition and Japanese craftsmanship.
