Dubble Works was established over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now under the direction of Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it is a knitwear company founded in 1926, renowned for making high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. Indeed, to produce their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old circular loom machines from the 1920s called "loopwheelers".

For this piece, Dubbleworks chose another old, circular industrial machine called a "Standwheeler", originally designed and created in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to operate, only a handful of artisans are capable of running it. The cotton jersey produced by the Standwheelers is very different from the classic loopwheel t-shirts. Indeed, these machines allow for spinning a much thicker yarn than the norm. This results in a fabric that is both thick and robust yet remains breathable. Additionally, the Japanese label incorporates shorter fibers from fiber scraps during the combing process. This addition provides texture and irregularity. This is the Raffy yarn, historically the first to be made from recycled cotton.

This piece features a tubular assembly, without side seams. The straight cut is paired with a relatively wide neck, with thick ribs, double-stitched. Another detail reminiscent of vintage baseball t-shirts, the 3/4 sleeves are accompanied by a roughly cut rounded hem, reinforced with a simple seam to prevent fraying.

The Turquoise shade is achieved through a pigment dyeing process, applied after the garment is made, which gives the fabric a washed look and an irregular color that will enhance over time and with washes.
