The Cabin bag from Bleu de Chauffe is a travel bag made from a 100% cotton canvas produced in France, waxed and stonewashed for a vintage look. This canvas was originally used for the renovation of the Jeep Willys MB, an all-terrain military vehicle that appeared in the 1940s. It features a large main compartment with a generous opening, capable of accommodating all your travel essentials, enhanced with a dated and signed removable zippered cotton pouch by the craftsman who made the bag. It also has 2 side pockets, a large rear pocket with magnetic closure for storing your most valuable belongings, and a front pocket sized for a phone. All the trim and the shoulder strap are made from robust vegetable-tanned leather that will naturally soften over time.
While over 90% of the world's leather production is done using chrome-tanned leather or heavy chemical agents, Bleu de Chauffe instead chooses the only alternative manufacturing process: vegetable tanning. This is a natural action that gives the leather better durability, a natural appearance and feel, and, over time, a beautiful patina. Note that using living materials can lead to slight irregularities in grain or hue, which enhances the uniqueness of each model.
