The roots of Merz B. Schwanen date back to 1911. At that time, Balthasar Merz launched a textile manufacturing business in the Swabian Jura in Germany.
In 2011, many years after the founder's descendants had ceased production, Gitta and Peter Plotnicki, partners in life and business, stumbled upon a henley over 90 years old at a flea market in Berlin.
This henley, produced by Merz B. Schwanen, along with their passion for authentic clothing and their desire to revive traditional textile production methods, combined with a modern and sustainable approach, led them to the Swabian Jura where they chose to relaunch the brand.
