ONI is a mysterious label behind which hides a true enthusiast who has devoted 60 years of his life to denim. Always striving for perfection, Oishi-san is continuously in search and solely dedicated to production. This is why you won’t find an official website or Instagram page for the brand. It is also the reason why the label is distributed only in a few stores around the world and exclusively at Flâneurs in France.

Symbolically, the demon-branded company wished to create this 622 from the same fabric as their first jean: the "Blue Oni" model. This results in a piece crafted from a 14oz selvedge denim with a rough texture and the beautiful irregularities characteristic of the label. Made from a selection of the best cottons, this fabric has a textured hand, is relatively flexible, and has a typical appearance of the Japanese manufacturer. To achieve this, ONI uses "slub" cotton threads and a low-tension weave that only M.Oishi knows the secret to. To reinforce this authentic spirit and achieve beautiful shade nuances over time and with washing, there is an indigo warp thread, as well as a beige weft thread. This naturally brown cotton will offer a warm patina with sandy highlights and a vintage look.

Always true to its iconic details, a pink selvedge ID contrasts with the depth of the indigo fabric. There are also meticulous finishes such as the hidden copper rivets that strengthen the back pockets and pocket bags. The belt loops are described as "raised," meaning they contain a small cord that adds extra strength. The Japanese "Tempi" treatment (sun washing and drying) also adds character to the fabric and makes it more comfortable, while significantly reducing the risk of shrinkage typically seen in unsanforized fabrics.

The 622 is a Relaxed Tapered cut, with a medium rise that fits snugly, followed by a comfortable thigh opening and a narrowed leg opening from the knee down.
