Since its foundation in 1927, Vétra has continued its legacy and expertise by manufacturing all its iconic garments in its own workshop. Among these, the work jacket occupies an iconic place, having been worn by many workers before being supplanted after the war by double-breasted jackets.

This 100% linen work jacket adopts the design of the jackets worn by workers that shaped the image of French workwear. Historically, the oldest workwear fabrics were woven from linen with fibers sourced from Normandy, as linen is the quintessential local European fiber. It was only later that cotton & linen blends appeared, and of course, 100% cotton.

Despite its substantial weight, the fabric used here is pleasant and light to wear, benefiting from the thermal and sweat-resistant characteristics of linen. Overdyed to give it a subtly washed-out look, the fabric is accompanied by a 5-button placket with old copper buttons and traditional external patch pockets, one on the chest and two for the hands, as well as the internal chest pocket in the purest tradition of original work jackets.
