What is Block Print?

The fabric used for this model is a uniform base with resistant dye, onto which patterns are pressed using the Block Print technique. This artisanal technique involves hand-carving patterns on wooden stamps that are then dipped in natural dyes before being stamped onto the fabric. Each stamp creates a unique pattern and the outcome varies from one shirt to another. It is a lengthy process that often requires several stamps for a single pattern, thus requiring patience and precision in the overlay of prints.
