The Japanese label XX Development, led by creators Taichi and Kentaro, offers with its "SURE MFG" range meticulous manufacturing, a sharp selection of fabrics, and a revisitation of basics with enhanced quality.

The story of SURE MFG, just like the sticker label on each sweatshirt, comes from vintage American models that have been studied down to the last detail in order to reproduce them as faithfully as possible.

In this instance, XX Development has chosen to recreate a design that was very popular between the 1930s and 1950s, particularly in the realms of sports and workwear, which has become rarer nowadays: the After Hood. Its particularity lies in its assembly, which consists of sewing the hood to the neckline of a sweatshirt after this round-neck sweatshirt has been made. Upon closer inspection, you can clearly see the sweatshirt's collar, with the hood attached separately, unlike today's hoodies where the hood is an integral part of the body, replacing the collar.

In addition to this unique assembly, the weight of this hoodie is immediately surprising and explains the name Alaska given to it. Layering two layers of 14.4oz fleece each, this sweatshirt reaches an impressive weight of 28.8oz, making it the heaviest sweatshirt we have had the opportunity to include in our selection. A true armor against the outside. The fleece was also specially designed for this sweatshirt from the cotton remnants resulting from the manufacturing of SURE MFG t-shirts.

To maintain comfort and ease of movement, the fit is loose and short, with a slightly dropped shoulder and good width at the armhole. This volume is also designed to compensate for a slight shrinkage of the fabric after the first wash.
