The Lot 4601 from Warehouse & Co. is the quintessential basic t-shirt. Made from 100% cotton jersey, woven at low tension from yarns with pronounced irregularity, it features a classic short and boxy silhouette. The reinforced collar opening and overlock stitching ensure a fit and finish that are both durable and resilient. The high standards of Warehouse & Co. have led them to seek out the most capable machines to produce these decidedly vintage-looking t-shirts. They chose a 1960s loom, originally used to produce ribbed underwear from thick yarn. This machine allows them to retain the natural irregularity of the cotton fibers and combine a unique texture with undeniable durability. The so-called "Loopwheeler" machines weave cotton with very low yarn tension, allowing them to produce a unique and superior quality fabric, resulting in a final product that is incredibly comfortable. There are only about 400 such machines left in Wakayama, Japan, and only half are commonly used. These machines were the standard between the 1920s and 1960s, until these manufacturing methods, deemed too slow and expensive, gave way to efficiency and reduced production costs. These t-shirts will be subject to slight shrinkage after washing but will return to their original shape when worn due to relaxation.
