Dubble Works was founded over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now under the management of Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it is a knitting company founded in 1926, known for making very high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. Indeed, for crafting their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old circular loom machines from the 1920s called "loopwheelers".

For this piece, Dubbleworks did not use this process, but another old and circular industrial machine called "Standwheeler". This machine was originally designed and created in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to handle, only a handful of artisans are capable of operating it. The cotton jersey produced by the Standwheelers is very different from the loopwheel t-shirts. Indeed, these machines allow for spinning a much thicker yarn than the norm. This results in a fabric that is both thick, soft, and light to the touch. Moreover, the Japanese label incorporates shorter fibers (from the remnants of some cotton fibers during the combing process) during the knitting, thereby achieving texture and irregularity. This is the Raffy yarn, historically the first made from recycled cotton (short fibers).

This piece features a tubular construction (no side seams). The result is a cotton jersey t-shirt of robust medium thickness that withstands wear and washes. And moreover, it will not twist over time. Finally, the strength of the collar is appreciated, being relatively wide with thick ribs.

Here, Dubble Works offers this long-sleeved t-shirt in Brick/Khaki: beautiful color shades achieved with a "Tie Dye" dye. It is a handmade dye that uses a particular technique of tying some parts of the piece with string ("to tie") before coloring ("to dye"). It results in a vintage-inspired garment, reminiscent of the hippie spirit during the 1970s.
