Dubble Works was created over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now under the direction of Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it started as a knitwear company founded in 1926, known for making high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. Indeed, to make their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old circular loom machines from the 1920s, known as "loopwheelers".

To create this piece, Dubbleworks chose another old and circular industrial machine, called "Standwheeler," originally designed and created in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to operate, only a handful of artisans are capable of running it. The cotton jersey produced by Standwheelers is very different from the classic loopwheel t-shirts. Indeed, these machines spin a much thicker yarn than usual, resulting in a fabric that is both thick and sturdy yet breathable. Additionally, the Japanese label incorporates shorter fibers from fiber remnants during the combing process into the weave. This addition provides texture and irregularity. This is the Raffy yarn, historically the first to be made from recycled cotton.

This piece features a tubular assembly, without side seams. The boxy, loose, and comfortable fit is combined with a collar and relatively wide ribbing, thickly ribbed and double-stitched. The raglan sleeves add a casual aspect to this t-shirt and offer greater wearing comfort. The left sleeve also features a chain stitch embroidery with the brand's initials "DW".

The Turquoise shade is achieved through a pigment dyeing process, applied after the garment is made, which gives the fabric a washed-out look and an irregular color that will intensify over time and with washings.
