For the SS24 season, Japan Blue introduces pants that strike a balance between classic jeans and a formal chino. Made from a light (8oz) selvedge fabric woven under low tension, this fabric is crafted from cotton sourced from Africa, specifically Ivory Coast. Handpicked, it is a more noble fiber, as it requires fewer cleaning operations to remove traces of husks on the cotton flower, making it particularly suited for indigo dyeing. The weaving and irregular appearance of the material resemble a chambray fabric. With weft threads in gray tones, it results in a more subtle wash and less contrast than with white threads. Like traditional chinos, it features two back welt pockets, one closed with a mother-of-pearl button. The uniqueness of these pants is enhanced by the two front pleats that add a touch of elegance. Unlike classic pleated chinos, these pleats are stitched, thus avoiding the need for systematic ironing. As with all Japan Blue jeans collections, it includes a zip fly. Finally, as with the rest of the brand's pieces, this model is crafted in Japan, specifically in Kojima, the cradle of Japanese denim. Having undergone an initial wash, these pants are comfortable from the first wear and no shrinkage is expected.
