The JE19 is the first pair of jeans offered by the Australian label Informale. It features a high waist and a relaxed fit, providing a comfortable thigh and a slightly tapered lower leg. It is crafted from 100% cotton selvedge denim, woven in Okayama, Japan on a shuttle loom dating back to the 1920s. Its weight of 13.5oz provides a sense of substance and texture while maintaining flexibility and freedom of movement. To add to the look and authenticity of these jeans, the rivets and copper buttons are made in Japan.

One of the distinctive features of this model is the thick selvedge ID that runs along the outer seam of the leg. The seam can actually be opened to provide more leg width if desired, thus adapting the fit to one's preference. Another distinctive point, the selvedge ID is also found around the inner waistband. On the back, the hand-cut kangaroo suede leather patch was washed along with the jeans, giving each patch its own patina and making each pair of jeans unique.
