Despite being relatively new, founded in 2013, Batoner is the own-brand of the Okuyama Meriyasu knitwear company, which was established in the 1950s. Batoner, meaning "one who inherits", proudly represents nearly a century of craftsmanship from Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, which has been home to some of the best knitting factories for many years. With only about fifteen of these factories still active today, each strives to continue the techniques and traditions that have made this region famous.

It is in this context that Batoner offers a wide range of sweaters, vests, and cardigans made from their Signature knit. This knit is produced by the family-run Sato Seni mill, also located in Yamagata. It is made from a merino wool yarn and provides substantial weight while maintaining flexibility and breathability thanks to a lace stitch. The spinning technique used preserves the authenticity of the wool and gives the final knit a unique ribbed appearance.

For this Turtle Neck, the design is simple and minimalist to maintain the timeless aura cherished by the manufacturer. The assembly of the raglan sleeves accompanies a versatile straight drop that can easily be paired with a wide variety of outfits and combinations. The turtle neck can be worn enveloping or rolled. With its substantial weight, this sweater allows great creation and conservation of heat to effectively face the winter. It is presented here in a very dark, sober, and elegant navy blue.
