These city socks from ROTOTO are made of knitted merino wool, providing pleasant cushioning and better heat retention. To enhance durability and anti-abrasion properties, the fabric is knitted while being coated with blended cotton using a special technique. Despite the presence of wool, they can be washed safely.

ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest sock producing region of Japan, the prefecture of Nara. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial production of socks was introduced for the first time in 1910, when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after a study trip to the country.

ROTOTO places great value on consultation in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and the use of the product. This can involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, conversely, modern high-tech tools."

The ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsmanship of the artisan.
