Since 1950, NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA has been producing warm, pleasant, and comforting socks in Japan. Katsuji Nishiguchi founded the company Knitwin Co. in the prefecture of Nara, with just one manual knitting machine. Since then, the company has continued to grow through successive generations and is currently led by Isato Nishiguchi, the third generation.
Their collection is divided into four ranges, named after the cities that inspired them: Boston, Prague, Oslo, and Teni.
The Hemp Cotton Ribbed Socks are part of the Boston range. The city of Boston in the United States is home to many baseball fans but primarily a significant working class. Just like any good piece of workwear or footwear, these socks are designed to provide unmatched comfort and increased durability throughout their use.
These all-season socks are made from a blend of raw materials sourced in an eco-friendly approach. The base of untreated organic cotton, derived from cotton thread trimmings, is complemented by a hemp fiber offering a "crisp" feel and great cooling capabilities. Hemp also has the notable characteristic of being six to eight times stronger than cotton.
These socks are of medium thickness but remain very durable thanks to a flexible weave and a mix of recycled synthetic materials, present to increase elasticity and durability.
