The Lot 4601 from Warehouse & Co. is the quintessential basic T-shirt. Designed in 100% cotton jersey, woven at low tension from yarns with pronounced irregularity, it features a classic short and boxy silhouette. The reinforced collar opening and overlock stitches ensure enhanced fit and finish durability. The high standards of Warehouse & Co. led them to seek out the most suitable machines to produce these distinctly vintage-looking T-shirts. Their choice fell on a 1960s loom, initially used to produce ribbed underwear with thick yarns. This machine allows them to preserve the natural irregularity of the cotton yarns and combine a unique texture with undeniable durability. "Loopwheeler" machines weave the cotton with very low yarn tension, thus producing a unique, superior quality fabric for an incredibly comfortable final result. There are only about 400 of these machines left in Wakayama, Japan, and only half are commonly used. These machines were the norm between the 1920s and 1960s, until these production methods, considered too slow and costly, gave way to efficiency and reduced production costs. These T-shirts will experience slight shrinkage after washing but will return to their original shape when worn due to relaxation.
