Beams Plus, launched in 1999 by the Japanese brand BEAMS, draws inspiration from the American golden age (1940-1960), a period of economic prosperity following World War II. The brand taps into the classic dress codes of the era, including "Americana", workwear, sportswear, and military, to create modern and timeless interpretations of these styles.

Using archival pieces as a foundation, Beams Plus reinterprets the Baker Pants, also known as Fatigue Pants, worn by the GI of the US Army in the 1950s, specifically starting from 1952. To reproduce a model reminiscent of the original, the Japanese label crafted these pants in a cotton satin fabric (Back-Satin) and in a Sage shade: a light olive green reminiscent of the famous OG107 reference, echoing the OG-107 uniform worn by the American army during the Vietnam War. Beams Plus has, however, reworked the back satin fabric to achieve a fine, flexible, and slightly satin-finished texture.

The pants retain the characteristics of the Fatigue Pants, with details such as the two large front patch pockets, the two back pockets (one of which is buttoned) and the adjustable snap-button tabs allowing for easy waist adjustment.

Beams Plus offers here a slightly revised fit. It features a Loose Tapered silhouette, providing room at the thighs with a slight taper from the knee to the bottom of the pants. To give a more dynamic and assertive cut, the pants are intentionally designed with a 7/8 length.
