The Dobby Coverall Jacket is based on the iconic work jacket (or Chore Coat) that appeared in the late 19th century in France. Originally designed to be loose and comfortable for railroad workers or farmers, this version has been tailored to fit more like a blazer. It features a more fitted drape, with shorter sleeves and a shortened torso, giving it a more "formal" look than a traditional workwear jacket.

From the original model, the two large side pockets and chest pocket were retained, as well as the straight drape. This Momotaro revision features a shawl collar, enhancing its versatility. With tone-on-tone seams and black lacquered metal buttons, the Japanese brand also adds a personal touch by crafting this jacket in one of their flagship fabrics: Indigo Dobby. In its creation, the number of warp and weft yarns is increased or decreased during weaving to create a more or less pronounced relief and a honeycomb texture.

Thanks to this special weaving technique and its deep indigo dye, this piece is set to beautifully evolve over time, developing a patina full of nuances and textures.
