The 0405-70G from Momotaro is a pair of jeans designed with an all-season fabric, featuring a medium weight of 14oz. It is crafted using Zimbabwean cotton, traditionally hand-picked to preserve its natural qualities. This long fiber cotton gives the fabric enhanced durability and good dye absorption. An interesting feature is that the chain thread (outer) is not dyed with indigo but in a medium grey, creating a beautiful effect.

Paired with the white weft thread (inner), it has an elegant mottled overall look that is very versatile, allowing for the enjoyment of a Momotaro quality jean in a different hue than typically offered. After repeated wear and washes, this fabric will develop a unique patina, revealing the underlying ribbed texture of the fabric and various shades of grey.

The finishes are also noteworthy. Most of the seams are crafted on vintage Union Special machines, like the 43200G for chain stitching. Unlike traditional indigo models, this one features tone-on-tone stitching for more uniformity, as well as copper rivets and a vegetable-tanned grey deer leather patch.

The 0405 is the High Tapered cut from Momotaro, offering a high rise fit, a lower crotch along with a comfortable thigh opening, and a tapered leg from the knee down.
