After many discussions with FOB Factory, one of our favorite Japanese manufacturers, we wanted to collaborate closely in designing a unique winter piece. From these discussions was born the Parka F2450, a long parka with substantial weight, mixing materials and finishes we greatly appreciate at FOB Factory.

Thus, it was no surprise that we envisioned this piece in their famous thick moleskin, 100% cotton, woven at high density. To remove the initial stiffness, the fabric is lightly brushed, giving it a look similar to suede leather, with a smooth, even, and fluffy texture. This type of moleskin is rightly called "German Leather." It is a sturdy fabric that easily adapts to the body shape and will develop a beautiful patina over time.

Inside, the parka is fully lined, body, sleeves, and hood, in a Sherpa material made from a blend of acrylic, wool, and alpaca. With its sheep-like appearance, the Sherpa material has all the attributes to withstand severe cold. Its name is directly derived from the fabric used by the Sherpas, an ethnic group native to Tibet. Used as lining, this fabric is as warm as it is comfortable, with a very soft touch that can resemble faux fur.

While based on traditional parka designs, the cut has been rethought: the shape is straight, comfortably wide, and sufficiently long for an enveloping fit. The raglan sleeves allow for good mobility and make it easy to wear in layers. The 2 side pockets, designed for hands, are complemented by a simple chest patch pocket, thus maintaining a sleek look. The jacket can be closed with a YKK zip with double slider stopping at the 5th snap button, out of a total of 7, thereby providing an opening that facilitates sitting and general movement. Finally, a button placket sewn directly onto the hood adjusts the closure height to effectively protect the neck against the elements.
