To put this simply, if you cut the garment in half, you would see that the inside has remained white. Indeed, the core of the cotton remains untouched by the pigment dye. The coloring only occurs post-production, as the T-shirt is already shaped when it is dyed, and the pigment only colors the surface of the garment instead of penetrating the fabric.

Since it is not a uniform dyeing process, it gives the jersey a vintage look and irregular color. Each piece thus slightly varies from one dye batch to another.
