Oni is a mysterious label behind which hides a true enthusiast who has dedicated 60 years of his life to denim. Always in pursuit of perfection, Oishi-san is constantly researching and devotes himself solely to production. This is why you will not find a website or an official Instagram page for the brand. This is also why the label is distributed only in a few stores around the world and exclusively at Flâneurs for France.

Crafted from American cotton, the Oni label offers us a 13 oz selvedge denim. It is a lighter fabric than what is usually offered. The unique feature of this denim is that it has been purposely dyed and overdyeed multiple times to achieve this shade of deep black. A lot of research and testing were necessary to achieve such a result. It is worth noting that this is the darkest jean currently offered by the brand. Unlike other jeans from this Japanese label, this one has been sanforized and is not treated with "Tempi" to fix the size (washed once and then sun-dried). This sanforization process ensures a uniform color throughout the jean. The fabric is textured, slightly crinkly, yet soft to the touch. To enhance the "Full Black" tint, we find black rivets, stitches, and topstitching, as well as black pocket bags, and a black leather patch. The red selvedge ID provides a nice contrast to the overall uniformity.

Here, this Jet Black Oni denim is cut in their new silhouette: "Super Wide Straight". This new cut is therefore quite roomy at the thighs and leg bottoms, with a clear and wide fall. In short, the demon-headed label offers us a generous, straight, and loose cut!
