Oni is a mysterious label with a true denim enthusiast behind it who has dedicated 60 years of his life to denim. Always in pursuit of perfection, Oishi-san is constantly experimenting and focuses solely on production. This is why you will not find a website or an official Instagram page for the brand. This is also why the label is only distributed in a few stores worldwide and exclusively at Flâneurs in France.

Produced in a 15oz weight, the "Ishikawadai" is made from cotton spun on a Japanese Ishikawadai machine, the oldest of its kind, dating back to 1953. Unlike modern machines, the Ishikawadai spins cotton at a much slower speed, about 30% slower, which produces a less stressed cotton fiber and gives the fabric a natural look. The result is similar to hand spinning, with subtle variations in thickness and a grainy texture.

Another distinctive feature of this model is that it is woven with the same cottons as the famous Secret Denim, an iconic model from Oni. Its unique color is achieved by combining a warp thread dyed in a so-called Greencast indigo, with green/blue reflections, and a weft thread dyed in beige.

The cut of the 121S is a Relaxed Tapered, with a medium rise that encloses comfortably, followed by a roomy thigh opening and a tapered fit from the knee down to the ankle.

This model is one of the rare bleached jeans at Oni, the bleach treatment applied here gives it a lovely light blue hue with subtle and uniform wear effects.
