Despite being a relatively recent creation dating back to 2013, Batoner is the proprietary brand of the knitwear company Okuyama Meriyasu founded in the 1950s. Batoner, which means "one who inherits", proudly represents the almost century-old expertise of Japan's Yamagata prefecture, which for many years housed the best knitting manufacturers in Japan. With only about fifteen still active today, each one seeks to perpetuate the techniques and traditions that have made this region famous.
It is in this context that Batoner offers a wide range of sweaters, cardigans, and vests. These are knitted by the family-owned mill Sato Seni, also located in Yamagata. For this Solid Wool Rib Crew Neck, the design is simple and minimalist to maintain the timeless aura cherished by the manufacturer. The raglan sleeve construction complements a versatile straight fit that will easily blend with a wide range of outfits and combinations.
