After many discussions with FOB Factory, one of our favorite Japanese manufacturers, we wanted to work together on designing a unique winter piece. From these discussions emerged the Parka F2450, a long parka with substantial weight, blending the materials and finishes we so appreciate at FOB Factory.

It is therefore no surprise that we imagined this piece in their famous thick moleskin, 100% cotton, woven at high density. To remove the initial stiffness, the fabric is lightly brushed, giving it an appearance close to suede leather, with a smooth, uniform, and fluffy texture. This type of moleskin is aptly called "German Leather". It is a robust fabric that easily adapts to the body shape and will develop a beautiful patina over time.

Inside, the parka is fully lined, body, sleeves, and hood, in a Sherpa material made from a blend of acrylic, wool, and alpaca. With its sheep-like look, the Sherpa material has all the attributes to withstand extreme cold. Its name is directly derived from the fabric used by the Sherpas, an ethnic group from Tibet. Used as lining, this fabric is as warm as it is comfortable, with a very soft touch that can be likened to faux fur.

While based on the designs of traditional parkas, the cut has been rethought: the shape is straight, of a comfortable width, and the length substantial for an enveloping fit. The raglan sleeves allow for good ease of movement and the possibility to wear it easily in layers. The 2 side pockets, designed for hands, are complemented by a simple chest patch pocket, thus maintaining a clean look. The jacket can be closed with a YKK double slider zip that stops at the 5th snap button, out of a total of 7, thus providing an opening that facilitates sitting and general movements. Finally, a button placket sewn into the hood allows the closure height to be adjusted to effectively protect the neck from the elements.
