The NO COMPLY jeans line from XX DEVELOPMENT is a tribute to the traditional craftsmanship of a time when denim was booming and quality was the industry's watchword. The Japanese brand, led by its two founders Taichi and Kentaro, aims to meticulously study vintage pieces to create the best possible reproductions.

The NO COMPLY Modified Tapered model draws its fit from vintage 501 '66 jeans, while being revised to offer a snug high waist and good thigh room, tapering from the knee to the ankle opening. The result is a relaxed, oval-shaped fit that is modern and versatile.

One of the most interesting aspects of these jeans is the fabric, a standard weight of 13.5oz, perfect for any season. This denim, woven on old looms, features a contrasting white weft thread and black warp thread. This combination gives the denim a mottled appearance, along with a soft and fluffy texture.

Rarely seen, this model comes pre-washed (one wash) using the "Bucket Dip" technique: each pair of jeans is individually dipped in a bucket of moderate temperature water, allowing it to pre-shrink while maintaining a stiff and crunchy canvas, often associated with more raw "raw" jeans. Unlike the Indigo model, this one has been rubbed to remove this stiffness, making it more flexible and comfortable from the first wear.

Unlike earlier NO COMPLY jeans models we received, the length has increased from 30 to 32 to suit a larger number of people. Despite a fixed size, slight shrinkage may occur at the first wash, especially in leg length. A reduction of about 2 cm maximum is to be expected.
