Oni is a mysterious label behind which hides a true enthusiast who has devoted 60 years of his life to denim. Always in pursuit of perfection, Oishi-san is constantly researching and dedicates himself solely to production. This is why you won't find a website or an official Instagram page for the brand. It is also why the label is distributed only in a few shops around the world and exclusively at Flâneurs in France.

Made in a 15oz weight, the "Ishikawadai" is crafted from cotton spun on a Japanese Ishikawadai machine, the oldest of its kind, dating back to 1953. Unlike modern machines, the Ishikawadai spins cotton at a much slower speed, about 30%, which results in less stressed cotton fibers and gives the fabric a natural appearance. The outcome is similar to hand spinning, with subtle variations in thickness and a grainy texture.

Another distinctive feature of this model is that it is woven using the same cottons as the famous Secret Denim, an iconic model from Oni. Its unique color is achieved by combining a warp thread dyed in a so-called Greencast indigo, with green/blue hues, and a weft thread dyed in beige. This combination, coupled with very low tension weaving on a 1950s shuttle machine, will result in a patina unlike any other.

The 200 is a "Wide Straight" cut that offers a high waist paired with a wide straight leg, from thigh to ankle.
