Despite being relatively new, founded in 2013, Batoner is the proprietary brand of Okuyama Meriyasu hosiery, established in the 1950s. Batoner, meaning "one who inherits", proudly represents the nearly century-old craftsmanship of the Yamagata prefecture in Japan, which has hosted many of the finest knitting factories in Japan for many years. Today, only about fifteen remain active, each striving to preserve the techniques and traditions that have made this region famous.

In this context, Batoner offers a wide range of sweaters, vests, and cardigans made from their Signature knit. This knit is produced by the family-owned Sato Seni mill, also located in Yamagata. It is made from a Merino wool yarn and offers significant weight while maintaining flexibility and breathability thanks to a lace stitch. The spinning technique used preserves the authenticity of the wool and gives the final knit a unique ribbed appearance.

For this cardigan, the design is simple and minimalist to maintain the timeless aura cherished by the manufacturer. The assembly of the raglan sleeves accompanies a versatile straight drape that will easily blend with a wide variety of outfits and combinations. A single, central button allows it to be kept closed without altering the drape, and 2 patch pockets add a touch of practicality. It is presented here in an "ivory" shade, a subdued and bright off-white that will bring contrast and light to your outfits.
