Despite being a relatively recent creation dating back to 2013, Batoner is the own brand of the Okuyama Meriyasu knitwear company, established in the 1950s. Batoner, meaning "one who inherits", proudly represents the nearly century-old craftsmanship of the Japanese prefecture of Yamagata, gathering for many years the best knitting factories in Japan. With only about fifteen still active today, each strives to continue the techniques and traditions that have made this region famous.

In this context, Batoner offers a wide range of sweaters, vests, and cardigans made from their Signature knit. This knit is woven by the family-run mill Sato Seni also located in Yamagata. It is made from a Merino wool yarn and offers substantial weight while maintaining flexibility and breathability thanks to an openwork stitch. The spinning technique used preserves the authenticity of the wool and gives the final knit a unique ribbed appearance.

For this cardigan, the design is simple and minimalist to maintain the timeless aura cherished by the manufacturer. The assembly of the raglan sleeves supports a versatile straight fit that will easily blend with a wide range of outfits and combinations. A single central button allows it to be kept closed without altering the fall, and 2 patch pockets add a touch of practicality. It is presented here in a very dark navy blue, sober and elegant.
