Despite being relatively new, founded in 2013, Batoner is the proprietary brand of the Okuyama Meriyasu knitwear company, established in the 1950s. Batoner, meaning "one who inherits", proudly represents nearly a century of craftsmanship from the Japanese prefecture of Yamagata, where for many years the best knitting factories in Japan were concentrated. Today, only about fifteen remain active, each striving to continue the techniques and traditions that made this region famous.

In this context, Batoner offers a wide range of sweaters, vests, and cardigans made from their Signature knit. This knit is produced by the family-owned mill Sato Seni, also located in Yamagata. It is made from Merino wool yarn and provides significant weight while maintaining flexibility and breathability thanks to a lace stitch. The spinning technique used preserves the authenticity of the wool and gives the final knit a unique ribbed appearance.

For this Turtle Neck, the design is simple and minimalist to maintain the timeless aura cherished by the manufacturer. The assembly of the raglan sleeves accompanies a versatile straight drape that can easily be paired with a wide variety of outfits and combinations. The turtle neck can be worn enveloping or rolled.
