The Shaggy Dog Skipper Polo is a fresh reinterpretation of J. Press’s iconic sweater. Inspired by the legendary Shaggy Dog — a name coined by Irving Press, son of the founder, in reference to the coat of his own dog — this version introduces a polo collar that gives a modern and relaxed twist to the traditional winter knit.
Produced in Japan in collaboration with Yonetomi Seni, a knitwear manufacturer founded in 1952 in Yamagata and renowned for its refined craftsmanship, this sweater combines genuine British Shetland wool, premium 5-gauge knitting, and traditional teasel brushing to achieve a soft, airy handfeel while preserving the Ivy heritage spirit.
This Skipper Polo stands out for its plush texture, balanced silhouette, and timeless elegance. Versatile and easy to wear, it can be styled on its own or layered, making it suitable for both classic and contemporary looks.
