Since 1950, NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA has been producing warm, comfortable, and soothing socks in Japan. Katsuji Nishiguchi founded the company Knitwin Co. in Nara prefecture with just a single hand-operated knitting machine. Since then, the company has continued to grow through successive generations and is now led by Isato Nishiguchi, the third generation.
Their collection is divided into 4 ranges, named after the cities that inspired them: Boston, Prague, Oslo, and Teni.
The Wool Ribbed Socks are part of the Prague range. The city of Prague, in the Czech Republic, derives its beauty from its architecture, from colorful baroque buildings to stone gothic churches. Like this city, these socks offer a simple weave that highlights the quality, texture, and brilliance of each material.
Made of ultra-soft premium wool, these ribbed socks are thick and durable yet lightweight. Polwarth is a particular breed of sheep, comprising one-quarter Lincoln and three-quarters Merino. It is a breed known for its lustrous, soft, and fine wool. The brand has chosen this blend for its ultimate fluffiness and softness, creating thick and cozy socks that wrap the feet in warmth and comfort without weighing them down.
