These ROTOTO socks, with a "Checkerboard" pattern, are made from velvet fabric ("pile"), smooth on the outside and looped on the inside. Thick and fluffy, these indoor socks provide comfort and excellent cushioning, as well as good grip on smooth floors thanks to the non-slip inscriptions underneath the foot. The addition of wool provides significant warmth to effectively combat winter temperatures.

ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest sock-producing region of Japan, Nara Prefecture. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial sock production was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after his study trip to the country.

ROTOTO places great value in collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with artisans to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines depending on the type of material and the use of the product. This may involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, conversely, modern high-tech tools.

ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the artisan's know-how.

"Preserving the tradition inherited from previous generations, while painting the future with a fresh perspective. We will continue to try to produce things that can only be created here."
