Room Socks by ROTOTO are true slipper/socks. They were developed using a machine specifically designed to produce various types of socks for skiers, mountain rescue teams, and fishermen. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of removing shoes when entering a home, they are thick, warm, and comfortable, designed to be worn without shoes. Enhanced with non-slip inscriptions on the bottom, they brilliantly accompany your relaxing moments at home. The pattern is inspired by traditional Native American textiles, adding a distinctive, original, and colorful touch.
It is strongly advised to avoid the tumble dryer, as it may cause shrinkage.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in Japan's largest sock-producing region, Nara Prefecture. The area has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial sock production was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after his study trip to the country.
ROTOTO places high value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with artisans to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines according to the type of material and the product's use. This can involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, conversely, modern high-tech tools."
ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman's expertise.
"Preserving the tradition inherited from previous generations, while painting the future with a fresh perspective. We will continue to try to produce things that can only be created here."
