This Lot. 4603 Football T-Shirt from Warehouse & Co. is inspired by the design of vintage football jerseys, offering a minimalist look enhanced with an overlock seam across the back and chest, and three-quarter length sleeves. It is crafted from their signature loopwheel jersey, which is woven at low tension from yarns with pronounced irregularities.

The high standards of Warehouse & Co. led them to seek out the most suitable machines for creating these distinctly vintage-looking t-shirts. They chose a loom from the 1960s, originally used for producing ribbed underwear with thick yarns. This machine enables them to preserve the natural irregularity of the cotton threads and combine a unique texture with undeniable durability. "Loopwheeler" machines weave cotton with a very low yarn tension, allowing them to produce a uniquely high-quality fabric that results in a soft and comfortable final product. There are only about 400 of these machines left in Wakayama, Japan, and only half are still commonly used. These machines were the standard between the 1920s and 1960s, until these manufacturing methods, deemed too slow and expensive, gave way to the efficiency of modern machines and reduced production costs.
