This Lot. 4603 Football T-Shirt from Warehouse & Co. is inspired by the design of vintage football jerseys, featuring a minimalist look enhanced by an overlock seam that crosses the back and chest as well as 3/4 length sleeves. It is made from their signature loopwheel jersey, woven at low tension from yarns with pronounced irregularities.

The high standards of Warehouse & Co. have led them to seek out machines capable of producing these decidedly vintage-looking t-shirts. They chose a loom from the 1960s, originally used to produce ribbed underwear with thick yarn. This machine allows them to preserve the natural irregularity of the cotton threads and combine a unique texture with undeniable durability. The so-called "Loopwheeler" machines weave cotton with very low yarn tension, thus producing a unique, superior quality fabric for a final result that is soft and comfortable. There are only about 400 of these machines left in Wakayama, Japan, and only half are still in regular use. These machines were standard between the 1920s and 1960s, until such manufacturing methods, deemed too slow and costly, gave way to the efficiency of modern machines and reduced production costs.
