After several years in the industrial shoe sector, Édouard, a professional designer, founded Manufacture Bontemps in Nantes in 2021.
Born from the idea of reviving the image of French craftsmanship and perpetuating a declining expertise, the factory relies on authentic techniques and materials sourced in France to produce durable shoes that combine comfort and robustness in a timeless and unfading style.
Inspired by the industrial model of the 1950s, a time when machines served the artisan and shoes were made to last, it was during his encounter with artisanal shoemaking that Édouard realized that these two visions of the craft are complementary in building a new manufacturing model.
Manufacture Bontemps thus aims to offer high-quality products designed with the rules of artisanal craftsmanship in mind, while taking into account the true reality of the industrial field. The models are designed to be manufactured in quantity without compromising on quality, aesthetics, or the short supply chain.
