Since its founding in 1927, Vétra has continued its legacy and expertise by manufacturing all of its iconic garments in its own workshop. Among these, the moleskin jacket holds an iconic place, having been worn by numerous workers before being superseded after the war by double-breasted jackets.
French moleskin, also known as "mole skin" in English, is an extremely durable satin due to its high thread count (weft threads). It is an emblematic fabric of French workwear that Vétra has been offering since its inception in 1927.
Vétra was also the first brand to offer a wide range of colors for its moleskin jackets, with the first historical colors being blue and black, which are less prone to showing dirt. The authenticity of the moleskin and Vétra's expertise in over-dyeing make this work jacket a staple, both in the men's wardrobe and in the rich history of French textiles.
